Even in Myanmar

Did  you see what happened in Myanmar in the past couple of day ??

Did you see What the Monks did in ex- Burma currently Myanmar ??

For three days the world did nothing except watching the uprising of the monks and its results in admiration??

The peaceful Buddhist monks rebelled against the military rule in Rangoon - 9/26/07Myanmar bravely and the regime replied stupidly as the custom of military regimes by killing them and entering their temples with no respect what so ever to the people's religious believes

The people answered on this aggression with protests angrily , not their religion and the religious symbol , huge protests inside Myanmar and outside it in front of its embassies worldwide against what had happened from two days ago

This is the second day and its seems it won't be the last despite the people who died thanks to the people growing anger

This is in Myanmar not in Egypt

It makes feel sad because of our religious men who seem to forget their duty towards their people in front of God , they seemed to be very timid

I am sorry but our religion Islam calls to stand against cruel tyrannies,to stand against corruption and fight it

It is one of the finest form of jihad that we stand against tyrannies, look to our history ,where are the great sheikhs like Al- Ezz Ibn Abd El-Salam,Mohamed Abdo and Rafa'a El-Tahawy now ??

Don't they fear God those religious men when they become silent on what is happening in the country !! being hypocrites to the various regimes only to secure life , what about the other life afterwards !!??

The religion now is used in the service of the regime , on demand fatwas

You know those Islamic clerics seems to me as if they sold their souls to the devil by their silence and obedience to a regime with no religion what so ever.

Did you know that for the first time this year in the history of Egypt the prayers of Tahagd in Ramadan are limited in specific Mosques across the country ??

The "Tahagd" is a kind of prayers where Muslims stay all night worshiping in Mosques till Dawn prayer , for some hidden reasons this is not welcomed any more , the Houses of God which must be opened 24/7 must be closed after the Isha prayer ,according to the security orders

The Security boards in Egypt fear that this may increase radicalism , I scan0002 do not know how !!?? but I know that radicalism increased in Egypt due to the fact that the people are no longer believe the clerics of the Al-Azhar since it became a governmental institution with no independence what so ever , with its continuing silence on what it is going in Egypt from corruption and here I am not speaking about the Social corruption in morals more about the economic and political corruption

One day they will stand in front of God and they will be asked about what they have done to their people and their religion and I believe preaching in Friday about the family morals , about women and about honesty ,these speeches which are approved by the security are not enough at all , cursing America and Israel after the Friday prayers are not enough ,these men will be more accountable about us for what they know and have from religious knowledge and influence on the people

  1. our religious men are integral part of the problem, they are either in service of the regime or in service of violence, hatred, reactionary & anarchy

all i wish from our (religious men) is to step aside

NB. i respect Al-Azhar Sheikh & i don't like the picture you posted

  2. Al Azhar Sheikh is the best clergy man Egypt has witnessed since the death of Imam Al-Bahkoury.

He is great man. Unfortunately Muslim brotherhood and Wahbist demagogic Sheiks like Metwali el Sha3rawy ...etc have taken over the street. Mainly, because of the catastrophic deterioration in cultural, politcal and social aspects of life in Egypt that has been the outcome of the failure of Nasser's modernisation and social mobility project. The popularity of a medicoral, wahabised rasputin-like ignronmus like Amr Khalid proves that Egypt is moving in the worng direction

  3. Wow...the mosques are closed after Isha? Are you kidding me? Is this for real? There is more religious freedom here in N. America. Where I live we have had politicians from all political parties come to visit us during Jumaa prayer and during Taraweeh...to wish us Ramadan Kareem....there was even a leader of the Jewish community that came to visit...if you can believe this.

Closing the mosques..no taraweeh..no i3tikaf? This is so wrong on so many levels. You are so right when you that the House of God should be open 24/7.I think this will just make people more angry and more inclined towards extremist views. Islam is a religion of moderation and it's sad that the government lives in fear but perhaps it feels that it's very survival is at stake. You are right. Change requires sacrifice. Slowly the Egyptian people will come to realize this. All of those strikes this year indicate this realization.

I am so glad and thank God that I live in place where we are free to worship as we wish without violence of course. It's no wonder Egyptians are dying to leave Egypt.

  4. Also, I'm wondering about the strange fatwas that have been coming out of Al Azhar recently. The breast feeding one and recently I read that actors in Egyptian soaps are considered married if they get married on the soaps. How does something so simple like Islam get so complicated?

I sometimes watch this show on the dish with a guy named Moez Masoud (i think) and when you hear him speak, you realize that faith is simply a way of life and doesn't need to be so complicated as people make it.

  5. Al-Azhar is not like it used to be and sorry to say even the Sheikh Al Azhar, Sheikh Tantawi is not a man of faith but he is just the regime puppet or followers. I missed sheikh Sharawi who is really the truly Sheikh of Al Azhar and I still can remembered the way he spoke to current President and to remind him of what he did is wrong and he should repent. For once there nothing good that came out from Al Azhar to defend Islam. For e.g. about the hijab with the French Government, the cartoon of Prophet Muhammed saw, the war in Iraq, the all the nonsense fatwas that came out from Al Azhar. Al-Azhar no longer have the intelligence, honest, sincere, fear of Allah swt or God and patriotic people who loves the country and Islam like it used to be. Al Azhar was way much better during the Monarchy than now! Many Al Azhar graduates having hard time to read Al Quran the right way and even can't preach people. Even on Friday prayers on TV, everything is set by the State Security. During the King, the Sheikh of Al Azhar position is by election but now every position is appointed by the President. Many good Egyptian preachers or Sheikh are mostly being forced out of Egypt. You could see them on other country's tv satellite channel but not in Egypt! Even the drama King Farouk was not shown in Egypt but only shown outside the country! There is no freedom in Egypt. Egypt used to be the most powerful and rich country in the world but now Egypt is a banana republic. Egypt owe this thanks to the revolutionaries of 1952!

  6. **I don't know from where you got the info Zeinobia, but assuming it is true [[Mosques are shut down after 9:00 PM except licensed ones]], it is a very good idea, it means the government determined to show the Salafis & Wahabis its force, but it is not true, every fucken Zawya is open all night & every radical ignorant says any fucken thing he wants..

**It is true that the [[blessed banana coup-d-etat 1952]] confiscated Al-Azhar position as independent organization ((and all free minded thinkers in the country))
The mix between Political-Theological-Intellectual concepts of life that lured our destinies for the last half century must stop

1/ Islamic & Christian master organization must be free from state control, with their own published structure, internal organization rules, and abundant running investment to finance their activities
2/ meanwhile all organizations are subject to the state financial regulatory & state SECULAR LAW

this is the case in every RESPETABLE STATE from USA to UK to Germay to Italy to Russia to Turkey to Israel

**one last thing, we ask damn too much from Al-Azhar sheikh, we want him to lead the country foreign policy, to cut relation with France over hijab issue, to Impose embargo over Scandinavia for the cartoons, to declare Jihad in Iraq.

This is called Coas!!!, again [[The mix between Political-Theological-Intellectual concepts of life ]]

Tantawi is the loudest voice against wahabism,1980th he insisted on the credibility of modern banking & financials in the time that every dymagogue salafi calling for Murabaha system, THAT IS ENOUGH FOR ME.

  7. Wow I never imagined this reaction about this post and I think I will make another one

well aardvark, with my all respect the Current Sheikh Al-Azhar is not the best man in the position and I do n't ask him to go in war but more to be more independent , much more stronger, for me he is not the Sheikh of Al-Azhar more than the appointed employee following the Egyptian regime
for God sake he has to fight the Wahbais plus he is not the only person who is doing this
look as a man I respect him but as an employee to a regime like ours let's say that not only me but many people in Egypt are disappointed , do you know what people call him now : Siyad Beh Ok !!
by the way the mosques order was announced in all media and was discussed in Tv ,may be if they let the mosques open 24/7 there will be no zawaya
may be if the Al-azhar is improved ,you will find no more freaking wahabis saying freaking things

I am with you that religious institutions should be independent ,already if you remember the Sheik Al-Azhar position was by election just like the pope's position

@Amre, since Imam Al-Bahkoury !! For god Sake, I do not know how you describe Amr Khalid as Wahabised Rasputin !! have you ever listened to him before you jump to the wagon and start attacking him

@N.american princess , believe me I am saying the truth ,only chosen mosques are left for worshiping in Ramadan , imagine this !!
and you remind me with the strange fatwas , I do not know why they do not give fatwa about the thieves who steal public money !!

@anonymous ,you put your hands on the beginning of the problem , the revolution more specific if I may add the Nasserite era ,we need independent sheikhs not employees in the state
